Leading the Way in Creating
a Sustainable Future
Our sustainability initiatives are based on the implementation of international standards such as RSPO and the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), an international certification system to demonstrate sustainability and greenhouse gas savings for all kinds of biomass and bioenergy.
FELDA is one of the first few organisations in the world (oil palm plantations) to acquire the ISCC certification. Through our associate, FHB and its associated partner, we are the first integrated producer of biodiesel derived from palm oil in South East Asia.
RSPO and ISCC-certified CPO command premium pricing in the international markets, and we are targeting to produce 3.0 million metric tons of RSPO and ISCC-certified palm oil annually by 2017.
Some of the initiatives include:
- Enhancing the upstream business through new plantings, optimising crop portfolio, selective acquisitions, stakeholder consultation and sustainability certification for business continuity in harmony with nature and all stakeholders
- Implementing good practices on increasing carbon neutrality and lowering the environmental impact while developing sustainable methods and practices to plant and harvest oil palm trees
- Assessing supplier performance against RSPO principles and criteria
